Beth Dean, owner and operator of Studio 88, has always been a lover of music. At a very young age, Beth remembers listening to her mother play Beethoven and being literally changed by it. She wanted to be able to play the music that had touched her so deeply through her mother's hands. It was not too many years later that she was able to feel that same music coming from her own hands. At the age of 7, she began singing and playing the piano. She had found her passion.
Beth’s hunger to grow musically manifested itself in a desire to encounter as many musical cultures as possible. Over time, her musical interests encompassed not only her classical piano roots, but also included rock and roll, jazz, choral music, and contemporary Christian. This diversity of musical experiences allowed Beth to nurture her need for music and her desire to share her love of music with others. This desire has not only been to perform music, but to teach it.
- Music Education Certification: Eastern Ky. University 1987-1988
- Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance 1982-1986
Beth offers group piano/keyboard lessons for students ages 6 and up, grouped by age and level. (Groups are limited to only 4 students) Classes are available Monday through Friday afternoon and early evening. These classes meet once a week for 55 minutes. Beth has found that students participating in group lessons progress rapidly, are less likely to drop out, and are motivated by peer dynamics and enthusiasm. The environment at the studio is very professional and a place where you can be assured of your child's safety as they learn their instrument.
Beth also offers adult piano lessons. Adult beginners and "begin-againers" will enjoy the motivation and support of learning (or re-learning) in a group setting. These classes focus on playing for enjoyment, grasping new concepts, and accomplishing goals in a fun setting. Classes will be offered early afternoon and evening.
It is Beth’s desire to share her musical experiences and knowledge with parents and students. She wants to create functional musicians for our future.
