Julie Jones has been teaching piano privately for 25 years. As one of the leading teachers in preparing students for the School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA), Julie wants her lessons to be enjoyable for both the students and parents. She feels that it is important for students to learn how to read music. Julie is classically trained and emphasizes classical music, but loves to teach jazz and popular music as well. Julie offers two recitals a year, one in the Spring and a second on the Fall. At these recitals, students are able to earn trophies and composer statues. In addition to being a private piano teacher, Julie also has 3 girls who go to SCAPA and major in violin, piano, and cello.
Julie graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. She went on to receive a Master’s of Arts Degree in Teaching with an emphasis in Piano from Florida Atlantic University. She has played the piano for over 40 years and has been a private piano teacher for over 25 years.
