NEW VIDEO TO FEATURE GIST PIANO CENTER AND THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE
LOUISVILLE, KY., Jan. 1 – Now celebrating 40 years of service to the Kentucky musical community, Gist Piano Center has released a new You Tube video featuring Chris Doane, Dean of the University of Louisville’s School of Music. With this third installment in Gist’s “A History of Service” series, Ron Gist discusses how Gist Piano Center’s mission of service to the Kentucky Music Community has impacted Louisville’s premier music school.
“One of the things that I think Gist Piano Center has brought to our community has been a real sense of partnership with local musicians, educational institutions, and professional arts organizations,” said Chris Doane. “Without that kind of long-term cooperation, our musical culture couldn’t survive.”
“Being ‘Mr. Steinway’ in your community doesn’t mean you sit in the front row in a chrome suit and crow,” said Ron Gist. “For 40 years now, we’ve been where we belong - backstage making sure things are right.”
The new video will premiere on the Gist YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/user/gistpianocenter on Sunday, January 1. New videos will appear every two weeks throughout December and January as Gist completes its “A History of Service” series – celebrating Gist Piano Center’s 40th Anniversary.
“We want to acknowledge the role our relationship with these folks played in shaping our business model,” said John Gist, President and son of Company Founder, Ron Gist. “The ‘History of Service’ videos will feature rare interviews with the heads of these organizations and even a nostalgic word or two from my dad.”
