RON GIST AND STEPHEN KLEIN DISCUSS GIST’S HISTORY OF SERVICE IN NEW VIDEO
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 29 – Gist Piano Center founder, Ron Gist, and Kentucky Center President, Stephen Klein, will appear together in a new video on the Gist Piano Center YouTube channel. The first in a series designed to document Gist Piano Center’s 40-year history of serving Kentucky musicians, this rare interview discusses the history of the relationship between these two Kentucky icons.
“It’s not even a relationship,” said Stephen Klein. “It’s family. I think when you get to ‘family’ you’re way past ‘relationship.’”
Spanning over 28 years – from the time Ron Gist helped to design a specialized, climate-controlled storage room for The Kentucky Center’s Steinway pianos – until this very day, the relationship between Gist Piano Center and The Kentucky Center has touched many of the World’s finest pianists – as well as countless thousands across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
“We take great pride in saying that – for the past 28 years – when the great pianists of the World come to The Kentucky Center to play, they play on pianos that are either ours – or pianos that we have helped select and my people do the work,” said Ron Gist, “and, in all that time, I don’t believe we’ve ever had a single complaint. Not one.”
The new video will premiere on the Gist YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/user/gistpianocenter on Monday, November 29. New videos will appear every two weeks throughout December and January as Gist completes its “A History of Service” series – celebrating Gist Piano Center’s 40th Anniversary.
“We want to acknowledge the role our relationship with these folks played in shaping our business model,” said John Gist, President and son of Company Founder, Ron Gist. “The ‘History of Service’ videos will feature rare interviews with the heads of these organizations and even a nostalgic word or two from my dad.”
